Providing Positive Client Support
Labels are a useful tool to organize our lives, but should we label people? When we as professionals reduce persons served to a diagnostic label or a to a “behavior” noted in a case file, it is easy to loose the richness of that person. An interactive discussion to providing positive client support will be provided in order for participants to learn simple techniques to utilize while working with various clients/ patients including: the elderly, and people with disabilities. A fundamental philosophy of “respect” will be the focus of this training. Teaching staff to integrate this approach in their interactions with clients will be the primary goal of the workshop. Staff will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive practical tips to their actual case challenges.
